anyone try using a rear sight off of a S&W L frame? after comparing my 686 and 14-2 side by side the frames are pretty much identical in shape from the front, top strap, hammer and trigger guard, just wondering if anyone has modded a 14-2 for adjustable rear sights

I would trade the 14-2 for a 15-2.
After the money into machining and the Smitty sight I'm not sure the value would be added to the gun.
Removing metal from old guns makes me cringe. That's just me.

Not too many months ago, there was a model 14 on Gunbroker that definitely appeared to have been fitted with a S&W type rear sight. In the pics it looked like a very nice machining job and looked like a nice fit. I know it was discussed somewhere around here but I can't remember the thread title.
