I have a Model 14 with a 2" barrel and don't have any other DW parts. I like the revolver, but have often wished it had a 3, or 4 inch barrel I could convert it to. I have looked for shroud and barrel assemblies, but so far it's been like finding hen's teeth, or when I do... WOW, they go for more than I paid for the revolver. I recently stumbled on a shroud adapter by EKW that will allow the use of the newer shrouds and barrels on the older gun. I am curious if anyone has tried one of these, and what results you had with it? I'll put a link to the shroud so you can see what I'm talking about...

I don't have any direct experience with that unit but I will say that Eric at EWK makes top notch accessories for our guns. If he made it, I am willing to bet it works as advertised. I would not be afraid to try one and just may get one myself.

+2 on what Scorpio said. You can also use a 14-2 or 15-2 barrel tube on your porkchop if you get an exterior nut from the Wesson boys. The model 14 and 15 barrels are 1/4 inch shorter and are hard to come by.

The EWK shroud adapter does in fact work perfectly! Eric sent me one of his prototype adapters prior to releasing them for sale, for me to critique & offer him feedback. It is a very simple adapter, that works perfectly.
Here are a few pics from my little test session on one of my W12's.
Due to the thickness of the spacer, the barrel on the 15-2 shroud does sit a little deeper in the shroud once the cylinder gap is set. But that will not affect the shooting function at all.
A couple more pics, just cuz...even a fuzzy one.
