I found a way to get the dan wesson 445 I have always wanted into Calif.
if it is converted to single action only it can be brought in legally, and then once in the state and in owners possession it can be converted back to its original form.
Anyone here know how to do the conversion?

Looked the ruling up and the only restrictions are barrel length and overall assembled length and those are minimums of a barrel 3" or longer and assembled length of 7.5" or longer.
it also states that any double action can be converted to single action and reconverted after the 10 day waiting period.
it does not have to look like a lot saa or TC.
i found a 445 right here in my city just need to have time when both of us can get together to check it out and make a deal.
but I wanted to let people from Calif know in case anyone else is looking for any DW revolver.

I would assume that if the double action fly were removed from the hammer it would be single action only.
What I call the double action fly is the spring loaded arm on the lower front of the hammer. It's a link between the trigger and hammer. The trigger is pulled and hits this arm, the trigger pull continues and the arm pushes the hammer back. Once the trigger is pulled past the break point the hammer falls. If this arm isn't there double action isn't possible.
