I just bought 200 NEW .357 winchester cases. I would like to do something to these:

  1. So that I can identify/find them at the range
  2. mark them as a NEW set
  3. differentiate them form other loads

I know the old "sharpie/magic marker" idea, but I was thinking about going a bit more extreme. Any ideas? powder coat the bottom?

Soap Box, Ballot Box, Ammo Box

in that order.

Unless you're shooting them in a semi-auto, I just return them to the box I took them out of. Whatever you use would have to be impervious to the tumbling media...sharpies are not.

To add to above, unless you use different type of brass like nickle brass or starline vs winchester vs remington vs whatever...

You could take a vibro etcher and put your mark on it, most times it might stay even after tumbling...

To add to Shoots idea, there are spring loaded punchs, just push until they snap a punch mark.

I love it!laughing Too funny.rofl

As IHMSA stated, the 'ol tumbler will probably prove impervious to something as basic as a sharpie marker...I sorta discovered that myself.embarassed Carb cleaner was my only remedy.big-grin But I've found that's my remedy for everything, just ask my wife.confused
