I've been shooting my 715 in the dueallo matches at my bullseye club for a few years. Most of the shooters are using Hammerlli's and Walters in 32SW. That is NOT in the spirit of the matches intention.
I recently bought a Burris Fastfire 2 for my Kart 1911 (clark rib) and was thinking about getting a 1" Ultradot to mount in the old style B-Square mount on my 6" 715. We only shoot 38Spl in the revolvers in the club.
I had a brain flash when I was going through my parts bin. I had a set of these BSquare .22 "groove-to-weaver" base mounts. I Wonder if they'll fit the 715 rib????
Well after a bit of trial and error I got them on.
Step
1 – cut them in half .
2 – releave the corners of the groove to fit into the vent of the 715 rib.
3 – file out the square notch for the cross bolt of the fastfire weaver mount.
4 – touch up with a sharpie.
Done
Cut in half, corners filed
Unmodded and modified mount.
