Guys--we have a winner Big Grin.  I got some custom sights from forum member Geminiman2.  They are FANTASTIC quality and perfect fit.  They will be available in two styles; plain ramp, and a serrated with colored sight blade(still in research phase).  I stuck the plain ramp on my 10" SS and it is a match made in heaven.  I stuck the colored sight on a 2" blue just to show contrast and how well it fits.  These sights are cut from SS, but carbon steel will also be available for bluing.  Enough BS -- Geminiman2 will let you guys know when these are ready to ship, and I'll be getting a few more.  Here's a few pics--I stuck a std DW sight in for reference.

Shoot  and Charger Fan, Thanks for the input and compliments. I will start on the sights after I get back from vacation on 10-19. Still looking for any ideas on filling the serrated sight gap. I tried the plastic coat for tools.. no go.. Next a low melt temp plastic. What does anyone think about putting the serrated section on the soild blade ?? And or put the serrated section in place and were the cut out would be , raise that section .010 or .020 , and paint that raised area like the millet front sight ?? Open for any and all suggestions.  Most of all how many people other than myself would be interested in them. Cool

I was just about to send you a PM, so I'll put it here instead.   I like the idea of having the option of serrations or no serrations.  I played with the low temp plastic also--hard to get it into tiny dovetail at bottom--maybe eliminate bottom dovetail.  I was thinking of the compound they use for fake teeth (it is UV cured).  I may have a source for it. (Hmmm... a DW with a pearl front sight and pearl grips...Drool)

I'd be interested in buying a few from you. Can't go wrong by having extra sights around.Laugh If you're going to be toying with different styles, I'd like to get a patridge style & maybe a basic square one that could be filed to make it "just right".

Regarding the plastic inserts, there was a place mentioned on some other site that had some available...but I sure can't seem to find it now.Broken Computer  However, in my online travels today, i found this place...

I don't know how you'd buy from them, but I bet they would have the exact stuff needed.Smile

At this point I guess we will only be limited by our imagination on what configuration goes topside. The lower fit has proved itself. Thanks again for the help and leads..Cool

OK, I have five different variations made. 25 of each. the two shoot was kind enough to put on the forum for me. One new style like the full site but with the serrated edge..Two patridge , one at .250 height ans one at .350 height. All in stainless , with a brushed look. I sanded a couple with 400 grit to a polished look that came out nice.. I know you guys so yes I know this is no good without pic's, but I am on dial up at home and will have to do the pic post tomorrow form work..Cool

Five different flavors, that's great!occasion

The other day I got thinking of another type that I've always wanted to try, a dot style.Laugh Either gold dots, or colored. Making the inserts may prove tricky, but if it was complete minus the insert, we could maybe find those from a supplier...maybe. Haven't checked that out yet.Embarassed

Cool, that second one reminds me of the TV commercial from the 70's. The TR7, the shape of things to come. LOL

Guys I got my shipment of sights in the mail today Laugh.  I'll get some pics up later, but all I can say is my 44 comp PP is going to have a full set of "Gemini sights".  These things look  awesome.  The best part is you can get out the file and fine tune your sights.  With the stainless ones you just polish em up; with the carbon variety--just add blue!

What is the stock blade height?

I have a bunch of red insert that go about .285

and a yellow that is around .250ish - does this sound right?

I also have 2 fiber optic's @ .335ish I got of e-bay a while back.

Do you measure from the top of rib to top of blade?

Geminiman sent me an assortment of his fine looking sights, too.occasion

I'm ashamed to say that I've had these for a few weeks now & haven't posted picsEmbarassed too many things going on & my brain has been sorta disconnected.

He sent me some in stainless, aluminum & steel. A couple of them required having the burrs on the edges smoothed out with fine sandpaper, so they would fit in the shroud groove. But that only takes a few strokes on the sandpaper before they fit like a glove.Cool

For some reason, the top three look rusty in this pic...they're not, it's just my crappy camera job.Confused The original one is shown for comparison.

Image Enlarger

This one I haven't sanded on yet, so it shows a bit of texture. It will polish out easily, though.

Image Enlarger

My great idea of using early morning sunlight for my light source didn't please my camera too much, apparently.Frown But you can sorta get the general idea here.

Image Enlarger

I want to give Geminiman a HUGE thanks for making these!occasion Other than the aforementioned light sanding needed, these babies look like they came straight from DW...very impressive work! Worship

So... are we still making them ??? are they still available ???

I have my local retired machinist buddy building me rear sight bases ( for several different guns ) that will use the standard screw elevation adjustments, but will have a dove tail on top, so I can use the Williams ghost ring rear sight ( both fiber optic & black ) on my guns...

1st one was for a custom Taurus "Raging Hornet" with a Dan Wesson barrel shroud & a custom cut barrel grafted to it

2nd one will be for my S&W 610...

3rd a Ruger Alaskan in 454

4th & 5th guns will be my Dan Wesson 44 Mag, & 357 Max... so altogether I'm  looking for some different front sight options for 3 guns right now

this is the completed one for the Taurus with the Dan Wesson shroud grafted to it...

custom rear sight baseImage Enlarger

there are a few more pics in my newbie 1st post ( newbie section )
