Hi,

I bought the EWK small parts assortment and just finished following the pocedures that Shoot so nicely listed out.  Now I'm wondering if I missed something.  Is the cylinder ball something that should be changed out?  I'm sure there is a spring applying force behind it and it seems that it would wear out just like the other springs.

It's not obvious to me how to remove and install these parts.  Are there steps listed that show how to do this?  Having problems with the search but went back about 5 pages and didn't find anything.

By the way, I was complaining about how my pistol felt even after having a gunsmith work on it.  Cleaning up this pistol and changing out the springs has made a world of differance with it!  The differance between the new and old main spring was approximatly half a inch.

Directly below the firing pin is the Aligning Ball Screw (hammer needs to be removed) which you can back out of the frame to access the Spring Cylinder Aligning Ball and Cylinder Aligning Ball. As long as it is supplying enough force to engage  to cylinder firmly, I'd leave it be. Perhaps secure the frame pointing up, press down on the ball, and flood some cleaner in around the Ball if it seems to be sticking.

I went to a bookstore and asked the saleswoman "Were is the Self Help Section?" She said if she told me, it would defeat the purpose.

I was waiting to clean my pistol before I took a look and now I'm lost.

I don't even want to change out the detent just want a better understanding of how this thing goes together.  And I don't see how they put the detent ball in there at all.  No screw and nothing that looks like it comes apart.

What am I missing?

ok--it is pretty scratched up, but that is a flat head screw slot you are looking at.  Just put in a proper fitting screwdriver and turn it out...  spring and ball will fall out also.

When you put it back together, just tighten the screw in until it is flush again with frame.

Wow...I was using a scribe and trying to feel the outline of a screw any anything and couldn't feel any edge.  I think I'll leave this alone until I have a problem.

That slot is the screw, yours is flattened so you can't harley see the screw

but it is there. Get the right flat head and turn counter clock and you

will have it. You have went this far no sense running now.
