Okay, so I got a new extractor from Snake Eyes today and now I am ready to take off the old and put on the new.  Any tips?  Are the treads that hold the extractor assembly together reverse threaded?  Looks like they are on a S&W??  Any general guidance or are there older thread that would help me??

The threads are right hand, not reverse. When I reassemble/disassemble, I use a piece of leather to cushion a pair of pliers or vise grips to loosen or tighten the ejector rod into the extractor. Just to make it tight enough not to come loose. There are some photos etc. in the gunsmithing threads.

Technically, the glass is always full; half liquid, half air....

Okay- The old out of time 15-2 is now an in time 15-2.  Got the brand new extractor from Snake Eyes, Thanks by the way excellent shipping excellent factory new condition of part, and got it put together then I tried to close the cylinder and it would not close, the new extractor had too much factory new material on the star and needed to be sanded and fitted a little so I did that via some trial and elbow grease and now it fits like a glove, locks up tight and the timing is great.  I can see on the old star of the old extractor where one of the points of the star that engages the hand is worn badly andthat was causing it to be out of time. This new extractor was just the ticket- seems to work great.  Much obliged.  An old frame just got functional again now let's get a barrel on it and get it to the range.
