I'd always thought Dan Wesson revolver grips were one piece, and held in place by a central bolt into the tang either square or round depending on size of revolver.
I came across what seems to be 2 piece grips and held in place by two screws as shown.
Is there anyone familiar with the 2 piece grips and the style of the grip frame.
A photo or link would be nice.

That's the first I've seen a locating/cross piece, interesting...
I have a gun that I bought unfinished from AHS (American Historical Society), the group that put out many of the collectible DW guns in the late '80's & early '90's. My gun was destined to be one of the big game commemorative guns, but for whatever reason, the S/N designation was scrapped in favor of another. So I have "Bear #002" (don't know where #1 is)...this gun came to me with unfinished two-piece grips, minus the medallions. Mine do not have the above shown locating piece...again this is the first I've seen such a piece. THAT may be very well a one-off piece for all I know.
Pics...
(I hate the pic uploading BS on this forum these days.) Sorry for the couple fuzzy grip pics (looks like pics of UFO's or something)...I guess my camera is finally cashing in. I give, I'm going to bed. LOL!

Here are 2 more pics of the same revolver/s in the set in presentation case.
Difficult to tell for sure the grips seem to have been inletted on inside.
How about your grips do they show any inletting on other side for special piece, perhaps not all had this feature?
