Hi All,
Has anyone ever compiled a list of gunsmiths that work on Dan Wesson Revolvers? I am looking for one for a friend of mine who wants to have a trigger job done on one of his DW revolvers (744 I am guessing). He would definitely prefer if there was a 'smith in the Boulder/Denver region that knows Dan Wessons.
I am came across this link, but it appears to never have really been followed up on: https://www.danwessonforum.com/forum/parts-and-service/a-list-of-gunsmiths
Thanks ahead of time...

I don't know about Colorado but there is a very good smith in Mission, KS who won't do a trigger job on a big Dan. Reason #1 is his experience has been that sometimes the hardening of the parts isn't very deep and modifying the trigger or hammer can necessitate replacing the parts. He said there is a smith in Omaha, NE who will do a trigger job on a big Dan but that guy is very ($800 ) expensive. Reason #2 is that Dan's are very accurate as is and it is unlikely shooters will do a lot of double action firing of big Dan's. Single action on my 740 is pretty sweet and it is so big that I don't see myself using much if any double action on it.
If it were me, I would try a thorough cleaning first and some very light polishing on the trigger and hammer with some 2500 grit paper. (To better define what I mean by light, I recently replaced the hammer and trigger. I went over the contact points three, maybe four times, with the 2500 grit. It was just enough to lose the new part "roughness".) For lubrication, I used moly. I'm about to try Shoot's recommendation of ATF.
HTH.

Mark Waldo is a gunsmith as well as a Bluer, but not in CO. You could
ask him about a trigger job.
