Anyone have any good or bad experiences with any particular sonic cleaner. I am thinking about purchasing one for personal use. Something on the small scale for handgun only. Not a large commercial grade. Steve's 715 taredown got me thinking again. That's alot of parts to clean one at a time.

I used to have a pretty nice one (professional use type). The tank was about the size of a shoe box and i used it for cleaning motorcycle carburetors. I wish I would have kept it. I've heard you can put a piece of Tupperware on top of the fridge and get the same effect... I doubt it is as effective.

I don't own an ultrasonic cleaner yet, but I'm toying with the idea for sometime in the future. Heck, I could use it to clean car & bike parts, if I don't like it for gun use. A while back, I stumbled on this blog that I found interesting...

Actually, that blog was linked from a forum discussion somewhere, where they were talking about brass cleaning. A few of those guys said they had tried both & decided that tumbling their brass was still their preferred method & that primer pockets didn't need to be THAT clean.
However, from a gun cleaning standpoint, I don't see how ultrasonic could be a bad thing.
