I have been wanting to take up the endshake in my 7445 (1990) for awhile.

Since I was blown off by the CZ guys when I requested service information (like how to do

it myself), I figured I would use the great info here (seems like the only place left that has

good dis-assembly instructions). CZ told me "they no longer give out that information".

Triggershims.com now has Dan Wesson cylinder shims in various thicknesses. They are very nice to deal with too.

I actually ended up there from the S&W forum researching a different project. No affiliation etc.

After a couple of tries with different ones, I now have a tight gun again. We'll see how long that lasts :)

Good info on getting parts.

Just out of curiosity, did you contact CZ, or Dan Wesson in Norwich, NY direct?

I went to a bookstore and asked the saleswoman "Were is the Self Help Section?" She said if she told me, it would defeat the purpose.

I emailed keith@cz-usa.com.

His reply to a request for dis-assembly instructions of a 7445 (cut and pasted):

I am sorry,
We no longer hand out that information.

----
I figured it out myself having done it a few times in the 90's and looking at the tutorials here.
I didn't bother replying to him as I would probably say something we would all regret.
---
Another cool thing about Triggershims is that they will make shims in any thickness if their
paks don't have what you need. Now to get actual trigger shims for the DW. I noticed there
is quite some play side to side when having it all apart. I don't think I would ever try doing
this to a S&W.

Thanks for the info on the shims.  Next time I need to overhaul a Large/SM frame, I'll keep them in mind.
