So I finally got around to finishing up my first reloads. Before I start the 375 SM stuff, I thought I would learn on something easier like 38 Special.
These rounds are my first batch (50 rounds) and they came out great. I cast the bullets, sized & then loaded them. Component list is:
Bullet: Lyman 358429, #2 Alloy, 170 grain, Sized to .359 with Alox lube
Cases: Once-fired Winchester 38 Special
Powder: 4 grains Unique
Primer: Small CCI Pistol
I will be running these in my 715-FB, so the bullets were sized accordingly.
Overall, the loading was allot easier than I thought, though a bit more time consuming. Granted, I was doing a small batch on a single-stage press, so that may have slowed me down. I was also overly inspecting everything to make sure it all came out right.
The only issue I had was that I over-flared the case for the bullet, so I had to be careful when I ran the round up into the seat die. Other than that, it went extremely smooth.
Here's a couple pics

Now go shoot, then call what you hit "the target". They'll be perfect!
Ron you and I must have gone to the same school of target recognition, because I never miss "the target".
Nice work, I hope to have my first batch up running soon.
