OK, I love CLP as much as the next guy... I use it on several of my auto pistols, and my Mini-14's...
I found out this morning it is not ideal for DW revolvers. I know some of you guys use it, but I'm going to get you to switch ....
The only reason I used it this morning was because my usual lube was in the garage and I was in the basement (yea, LAZY)... For those of you who don't know, my preferred DW lube is regular old ATF -- yep Automatic Tranny Fluid.
As soon as I put the CLP DW together and pulled the trigger I was very disappointed. It was heavy and gritty feeling. I took it back apart to make sure everything was in place properly, and it was. Put it back together, still felt terrible, tear it back down...
Solvent stripped all the CLP off the parts, dried them, and dunked them in ATF. Put it all back together and ...
Like a totally different gun... smooth, quiet, the usual DW I own. I don't know if CLP ever goes bad--I know I always shake it up good before I use it. But, I will NEVER use it on a DW again.
Just my 2 cents...

I haven't used it yet, so I'm one up on ya. I like Remoil, ATF, and also use a light application of synthetic wheel bearing grease on trigger & hammer pivot posts. Some of my guns like the Remoil better than others. The ones that don't, get ATF.
Lil' Dan likes 15w40 diesel oil best, for some reason. Anything else & he just doesn't feel right.

I am an FP-10 user. But on my "work" guns while deployed we use synthetic motor oil. Mobil one that we get from the tankers or whirlybird guys. Works great in artic, jungle, seawater, and even desert sand. Light film keeps actions slick and the blown sand sticks to this type lubricant the least...if not at all. That Barret won't cycle dry, like I need it to every single time.
I have found CLP to seperate, and has solids in it? Tried the ATF but i must have used wrong type...as the plastic and rubber were effected.
On a revolver I can see AFT working. When assembling I use that gunslick grease on pivots.
CLP seems like kero with silicone disolved into it?

May not make a good cologne (might burn the skin a bit) but you can get it in air freshener form.

I stopped using CLP about a year ago when Slip 2000 EWL was recommended to me. It's a huge improvement.
Between all my personal guns, and work guns (including belt feds and chain guns) all I use is Slip 2000 EWL, TW-25B (spray and goo), MC-1210, and RBC (rifle bore cleaner, for cleaning the barrels.) The outsides of my belt feds get plain ol aircraft grease.
Hope is not a course of action

SHOOT,
How did you strip off the CLP from the internals?
I was messing around with my 15-2 and it was having a gritty feeling trigger pull, and I'm pretty sure it is because of the CLP.
I didn't mess around--dunked it all in a vat of gasoline, then washed it all in brake cleaner, then it all gets washed in the sink with dishsoap... leaves everything perfectly clean.
