I have been looking for 2 years for some exhibition grade Birdseye maple to have a set of grips made for my 44VH and now my 445, after 4 months of talking to a guy up in Illinos He finally found some that I liked so I ordered two pieces big enough for LB to make me some custom grips.
after waiting for a month for the snow to melt my wood supplier got out and sent me one piece that when done will look fantastic on either one of my blued guns.
Can't wait for the other piece to come in so I have matching grips on the Big Dans.
contacted LB and he said it will be about 3 months before he will have time to get to them. I can wait for the job he does and as expensive as this wood is don't know if I could trust anyone else with it.
thinking of a thumb rest gripper grip as I like the style of both.
what grips do you have the LB has made for shooting big heavy boolits at high velocity?
let me know what you like about them.

I can't wait to see some pics of the finished product. LB is certainly a wizard of wood. I think you will like the thumb rest for your 445. I find it really helps with control. I've put in on my 741(as pictured)
from time to time as well, bit it pretty much lives on the 7445. I wanted walnut and he found a really nice piece of "crotch" walnut that turned out great.
To the paranoid people who check behind shower curtains for murderers:
if you find one...what's your plan?

Wow Brucetx, the wood for your grips is beautiful! Love the looks of the grip and his work is great.
Im in no hurry to get my grips made, it took me 2 years to find the quality of wood I was looking for, just hope I can have them made so I can unwrap them at Christmas time.
