Do you have any tips on maintaining Dan Wesson grips? Likewise, are there any things to avoid in caring for wooden grips?

Best,

John

Mostly just don't take them swimming wink and keep solvents (bore cleaner and similar) away from the finish.

And that advice, my friends, comes from the man affectionately (and properly)  known as:

"The Gripmaster"

I went to a bookstore and asked the saleswoman "Were is the Self Help Section?" She said if she told me, it would defeat the purpose.

If I have any grips, stocks, ect that lack a gloss type finish I will polish with

Johnsons wax. Gives dull finishes a sheen look and helps protects.

I would say if you have nice wooden grips and want to preserve them, buy some pachmayr grips when you shoot. I try to keep my factory zebra, walnut and L.B. grips pristine by changing them to the pachmayr grips when I go shooting. Otherwise you can ding them and scratch them up on recoil or laying them down when you go shooting. All you need is one grip in the small frame and one in the large. Then swap them out as needed at the range.
