Kind of an update as this has taken me a while to do.
I was having a problem getting my handloads to fire with 100% reliability in DA mode. The suggestion (among others) was that my CCI #550 primers were "hard" & causing problems.
I tried some Winchester "WSPM" primers but changed nothing else.
It worked. 48 rounds fired in DA mode not one misfire!
Conclusion? Don't use CCI #550 primers in a Dan Wesson, they don't get on together.

I've alternated between 500 & 550's in my .357 reloads & haven't had any problems yet with my DW's. The only gun I've got that gives me intermittent FTF issues is a SA .375 Seville, which I'm still in the process of testing different primers on.
Someone mentioned in another thread a while back, that it would be good to check and clean your firing pin & corresponding pocket, just in case there's a bunch of built-up gunk that's not allowing full travel of the firing pin.

The possible mechanical issues were covered (& eliminated) in the original thread. The problem was definitely the primers as swapping types removed the problem, but switching back caused it to reappear. This was after detail stripping & cleaning, swapping grip screws & replacing the main spring, even though the pencil test was passed with flying colors in both SA & DA mode.
