I finally reloaded some 445sm rounds this week and shot both of my revolvers. I purchased one from a local dealer and the other through a private sale. I'll bet you cannot guess which one I'm having problems with…the licensed dealer sale. Here's what's happening.
When I attempt to shoot the revolver in single-action mode, the revolver will not fire about half the time. I can draw the hammer back fine. However, when I pull the trigger it releases the hammer, but the hammer completely stops about half way on its path toward the firing pin. (I've never seen anything like it.) When I fire the revolver in double-action mode the revolver shoots fine?
According to the dealer, he will warranty the revolver if anything is mechanically wrong with the revolver. I definitely think this is a mechanical problem…spring(s) maybe? Since I'm still a novice at this, I was hoping that some experienced Forum member(s) will provide me some information so that I'm not flying blind when I talk to the dealer. Any input would be greatly appreciated. Thanks in advance for your input.

Maybe not a solution, but one of the most common action problems in DW's has to do with the length of the grip screw affecting the function of the mainspring. I assume you can duplicate this problem in dry-fire, so (carefully keeping track of which parts came from where) switch the grip/grip screw from the functional 445 to the problem one, and see if the problem gets solved.
The other BIG solution is always cleaning/de-gunking/lubricating. Maybe not even a complete tear down, but get the grip off and really check out that mainspring.
I went to a bookstore and asked the saleswoman "Were is the Self Help Section?" She said if she told me, it would defeat the purpose.
