Interesting idea Doc Sparky. The grips Two is having trouble with are some I built and since they fit fine when they left Georgia it is most likely a climate change causing shrinkage. I use only dried materials but some wood sources are a little vague as to how dry a piece actually is. Also even a completely dried piece going from humid Georgia to arid Nevada could cause changes. So far this is the only time this has occurred out of hundreds of grips. Regardless of the cause I am confident the grip can be removed with a little persistence. I bet the gunsmith he took them to didn't try really all that hard as he did not want to risk damaging the grip for something he really could not charge much for. Just an opinion. Keep plugging away Two and success is inevitable.

The GOOD news……If I had to pick two grips to get stuck to were
I couldn't get them off on two revolvers, I would pick these two.

Thank You Harly, third time was a charm
Awesome!! We were all cheering for you!! I'm glad it worked out. I've found that the ratchet strap method is the only way to remove a REALLY stuck grip. I've had rubber grips stuck so tight they actually twisted and deformed by this process before the strap broke them free. Fortunately the rubber grips resume their original shape afterward. The key to getting this to work is tieing up the strap so that it doesn't slip off the grip and allowing slack between the grip and the frame. I've got a patent filed on it!

Alright !
Now take a little file to the inside hole of those grips untill they
come off and on like they should and then put some wax or grease
on the tang before you bolt them back on.

LB has agreed to work on them for me, me being such a clucks when it comes
to handy work and I couldn't stand the chance for me to mess them up.
thanks again LB and to all of you for your suggestions, I would have quit without them.

Success ... So--back to the diagnosis... What appears to be the root cause--tight swollen spot, whole grip shrunk, etc..?

Still don't know but this is interesting. The grip that I took off the SS in the pic
is a 357. It went on the 22 cal (blue) in the pic real easy and came off easy.
It also went on and came off easy on another 357 (not in pics) but is also blue.
I have two 357's which are SS and their tang appears to be wider than the BLUE
357 or the 22 cal. They also (SS) have an opening in the tang were the main spring is visible. Not so with the Blue guns. So all of my custom made grips seems to be harder to put on
and take off the SS revolvers. Has anyone noticed this with their guns?
