When I shot my fantastic 445 SM my scope came loose. Using the Aimpoint mount. I did not loctite the front clamp. I think that was the main problem. The recoil cause the rear retaining screw to get bent. I have been trying to get this screw.
Harware store, Home depot, 2 gun stores without a bit of luck. So last week I called CZ, they were so nice to me. Told them I needed a long replacement screw for the rear site (that is where the Aimpoint screws down) no problem the very nice girl named Pricilla said. We have a short one and a long one. I ordered two of the long one at a major investment I may add. Got my two screws today and you guessed it. They are short screws. I paid $ 18.90 for two short screws......
I need a screw that is .0625 or a tad longer for my scope mount. Here is a pic of the screw with the two short ones. If anybody could help me I would be most greatful.
Thanks

Doom, never ran into that one before. Can you identify the thread? Or have CZ tell you the thread? If so my source for years for obscure hardware has been Mc Masterr-Carr 1-609-259-8900 or http://www.mcmaster.com. I order from them all the time at work

Can not identify the thread. I asked CZ and was told "Im not sure".
It is the size that fits the rear sites on the 445 SM.....that size.....
I guess I could alwasy tap it out to a more common thread but darn...sure don't want to go poking bigger holes in my shooter...

As SMF said Mc Masterr-Carr or Grainger should be able to come up with it, you just have to identify it first. Have you checked for an Industrial supply in your area. They specialise in odd screws and bolts or at least have an supplier. If you don't know of one try the yellow pages or even ask a contractor who is a supplier. good luck.

This may sound like an overly simplistic solution, but have you tried contacting Aimpoint? My guess is that they likely will provide you the correct screw(s) for free as part of their customer service. I understand their headquarters is in Sweden, but it's worth a try. If you don't want to pursue that avenue, perhaps you can identify and contact one of their local distributors/retailers?

6-48 x 7/16 is the longest screw I have available. I'm not sure where my screw kit is, but I'll take a look tonight, and get some measurements for you.

OK, after a little digging I found my screws...
Here's some specs for you: 6-48 threads X 7/16" USEABLE thread.
Diameter is about .137
This is the EXACT same thread that holds MOST scope bases to rifles. Unless you have an 8-40 receiver. 6-48 is the standard for most sight bases.
See what your thread diameter is (in real life a #6 is .138). If you do have an 8-40, I don't think I have any that long, but I'll look.
