A friend gave me some of his reloading stuff. After more than a year, I tried his 44 mag reloading dies from Hornady. The bullet seating die has two moveable parts inside that slide up and down. The die has an external 'C' clip that actually has a little tit that protrudes internal to the die and keeps these two movable pieces from falling out of the die.
The 'C' clip was missing. I emailed Hornady about this 'C' clip and they got back to me right away. The first response was that the die is old and not manufactured any more. And they had a question to clarify what part I needed. I responded to clear up the part I needed.
The next response I got from Hornady was they have sent three 'C' clips free of charge.
That was a pleasent surprise from a company that is very busy trying to keep up with demand.
Their web site talks about being out of stock and working extra hours and adding machines to help keep up with demand.
I give Hornady a thumbs up for customer service.

I'm glad to hear everything went well with the Hornady dies.
I recently contacted Hornady about a line of their bullets and their applications. The representative spent about 5 minutes with me on the telephone answering questions and offering advice. He was extremely professional and not once did I feel hurried on the telephone. I give Hornady a thumbs up on customer service as well.
Unless a manufacturer/retailer has a vastly superior product or controls the market, customer service is a driving force in my decision whether to continue do business with an organization.

My understanding is people have experienced very similar customer service from Dillon Precision.

Yes Wayne,
I bought my Dillon 550B about 10 years ago. When I bought it, I bought two automatic powder drops. At that time, the fail safe return rod only went through one lever. Now 'Fast Forward 10 years' I ordered a new one about two week ago and it comes with a fail safe double lever and no rod. I call customer service, and the guy offers one to me free of charge and it arrived in three days.
I give Dillon a thumbs up also.

I just got an e-mail back from RCBS customer service. Last week I contacted them via e-mail just to inform them I found an incompatability between their hand primer and older collets. They responded by saying replacement parts were on the way along with a modern collet. Great customer service.

We all need to support any reloading supplier or manufacture that feeds our habits. I for one think Hornady goes the distance to be on top of their game. Would like to see them offer more in the hp/xtp 375cal. in 200grain and 41 cal in 190 grains pistol bullets. two thumbs up!

I still use a single lever drop for 357 Mag in my 550. Do you know why did they went double? I have never had problems with it. As I have both, I do like the single better as it operates smoother.

Wayne,
I think the double lever has a fail safe which assures the return of the measure bar. Anyway, I was told that the new rod fits both old and new style powder drop.
