Does anyone here have the latest Hornady reloading manual?
I desperately need a few pages from the manual for 445SM loads- the 300gr XTP is the real important one at the moment. I can find only up to 240gr on the Hodgdon site.
I would gladly scan some info for you from my Speer or Sierra manuals in return. I just can't stomach spending $25 to get one or 2 pages that I need. Many thanks if you can help me out.
I hope everyone is having a lovely weekend.

I have the Thompson Contender manual with loadings for the 300xtp using AA1680: It lists the starting load at 28.4 with 1404 vel out of a 10" test barrel. They list a max of 31.5, but with an asterick stating oal is 2.060 exceeding max oal for revolver. That's the only listing for the 300 xtp out of 4 pages of load data. This is a 2004 edition of the TC manual.

Thanks for the info robhof.
Wouldn't you know it, 1680 is one of the few powders that I would like to try but can't seem to get my hands on easily.
I think I am just going to stock up on 4227 since I seem to be able to find that pretty consistently. It seems to do OK in the 357SM, but I haven't found that "magic" charge amount yet.

4227 has been my preferred powder with my 357max too. It's always available. I actually started with it, because it was the only powder listed with loadings for the 357max back in 1992 for cast bullets and jacketed. My TC manual lists a H4227 load for a Sierra JSP 300gr for 445 that starts at 24.5gr and do not exceed amt. of 28.2 gr.

Thanks for that load info robhof.
The ammo that came with the 7445 that I puchased had the 300gr Sierra JSP's. I couldn't get enough info on the loads (other than the bullet) to feel comfortable shooting them. It appears the guy who loaded these didn't bother with chamfering the mouth or doing a roll crimp so they will be recycled (other than the powder) and reassembled properly.
I will put them back together with some 4227 since I have it on hand.
Thanks again.
