Anyone ever swap the complete internals of a 715 to a 15-2 frame, or vice versa, to include the cylinder? In theory the two are identical, but I'm not sure if the tolerances differ between the blued versus stainless components or frame. Thanks for any insights.

Yes it has been done, fitting may and will most likely be required.

It has been done, but like Blacktop stated--fitting will be required.  Very rare do parts just "drop in"... they may work ok, but not like a truly fitted part.

I did it… or rather I had a smith do it….

This is my 15-2 frame from my original pistol pack. Back ten years or so, I was able to purchase the hammer, trigger, crane/cylinder lock, and crane from a 715 off ebay.  I use the SS parts as functional visual enhancement to my beloved 15-2. Plus the salty fingers are always touching the SS parts versus my original blued ones, which I keep safe, ready for thier return if called for. The crane was never used and does not fit at all.  Also note that the trigger travel screws on both the frame and the trigger…

All put together with the LB grips and EWK frame mounted scope mount. On this gun the crane lock uses a hex screw, rather like the front sight. On some they use a roll pin. FYI.

Soap Box, Ballot Box, Ammo Box

in that order.
