Well, I waited for a couple of months after my consultation with LB. This is not a complaint.  He is very busy both with the career that feeds the bulldog and grip-making.  I expected to wait a while for these.  I'm in no rush; I'm not critically ill or anything like that, and I'm more than happy to wait for top quality, craftsman made artistry.

The project was; matching grips for my two 715's.  The wood I chose was Cocobolo. The style I chose was LB Special. The pic is below. If there is anyone who doesn't think these are stunning; we have a big difference of opinion.

And now, with no more ado, the pic:

I hope you all like them.  I love them.

Now on to the next grip project.  I'm going to need a matching pair for my 722's.  Then all of my twin sets will have matching grips.

Gotta consult with LB again.  I hope he can fit me in.

big-grin

Absolutely Stunning. The Special is a great grip, and the cocobolo is perfect on a stainless gun.

I went to a bookstore and asked the saleswoman "Were is the Self Help Section?" She said if she told me, it would defeat the purpose.

Those are great looking grips.  I just received an email the other day that I should contact him again in a few months, as he is quite busy.  I'm patient, I know it will be worth the wait.

OH YEA!  Those are beautiful!  I need to get on the waiting list.  I've got a few guns that need new shoes like that.

I'm sorry to disappoint your wife, but it's just a pillow sham my wife purchased at TJ Max a couple of months ago.

Too late for now, but next time around, you guys need to emphasize the "classic, hand embroidered pistol rug" aspect of this picture, and "Oh yeah, the guns are nice too"

I see a lot of good words said about LB, but he is terribly backlogged with no end in sight.

Are there other stocksmiths that do similar work?

Lawrence Bruce makes DW revolver grips as a labor of love, the folks who want an LB grip learn to wait for the time to be right. He works more than full time in emergency services, and steals time from family, shooting, reloading, etc. to make grips for us. You can certainly contact him to go on a "wait list".

One alternative is Hogue. They make beautiful grips, my understanding is that you can buy something already made and in stock, if it is in stock, or wait. I really like the laminate they do on the bottom of the grip.

Also, check eBay or Gun Broker, grips are often for sale there.

Well worth the wait an artist can never be hurried! The 715's now are perfect (at least from my way of seeing them!)

On the waiting list for some lil Dan charm!

I contacted LB to get on his wait list.  He will absolutely get back with you.  We discussed the grips I wanted before committing to a style and they came out beautiful.  You will be glad you waited if you choose to do so.
