A couple of members were asking about the yellow cylinder protective rings that came or did come on new Dan Wessons. There is a guy selling them for $20 on eBay. I started looking into how you could make them and in just a few minutes messing with it I came up with a pretty good looking replica. Here is all you need, Yellow plastic art sheets ($15 on Amazon 8 11x17 sheets enough to make a lot of them) and a paper trimmer cutting tool ($14.24 on Amazon) yes you invest $30 but you can make a hundred or more of them. It really was not that hard. You have to cut the outer circle first, then the inner hole. I used the tool to measure the size for the small or large frame ones needed. You need to get a good place to work on it, use a piece of cardboard under the cutting tool. The plastic is not that thick so the tool works fine. I may sit down and make a batch of them but wanted to show you how easy it is to make your own. Maybe I should start selling them on eBay for $10 LOL PS my first came out a bit ruff but after a couple of times they came out really nice!

You can go one better by using the yellow, blue, black & red plastic top seals on some brands of coffee.
I've made an oversized one with "tabs" top & bottom to hold it in place with the pistol broken open for cleaning. In the event a cleaning tip or jag "gets away from me" & jabs the recoil shield it only dings the "guard"

I didn't know how to use it.”
