What Am I missing?

Spent a great day at the range testing target loads for my DW 15.  Only problem was my gun was shooting low (about 3" below dead center.)

When I got home I grabbed the appropriate Allen key and tried to raise the rear sight, but the sight would not raise.  When I turned counterclockwise the adjustment screw just unscrewed although it appears the rear sight is all the way down.

Makes me wonder if there might be a spring missing or something.  Please help!cry

Maybe a bit of corrosion is keeping the leaf in place?  I'd recommend disassembly and inspection/ cleaning.

Picture is worth a 1000 words... or so they say.

Need to see the rear and front sight.

Soap Box, Ballot Box, Ammo Box

in that order.

There should be 2 coil springs under the sight that may be broken or corroded. Drift out the pin retaining the rear sight in the frame, then remove the elevation screw and check those springs

I went to a bookstore and asked the saleswoman "Were is the Self Help Section?" She said if she told me, it would defeat the purpose.
