Mike,
Maybe a grand+/- a few hundred, but I load maybe 6 or 7 different calibers. Then I'm a bit impulsive and have really caught the RCBSAS.........
Once I settle down on a favorite powder / bullet combo I'll have fewer jars on the shelf. It is fun to experiment with different recipes.
when you get started.

Somewhere I have a pic of my portable loading station--I'll have to dig it up.

Yeah, that I want to see. Take it to the range and reload on the spot..........
When I lived in Georgia, I had a set-up that slipped into the 2" receiver on my truck. I could reload anywhere... camp, range, etc.

That's pretty extreme.
Jody, I'm half tempted to get a table similar to yours, for my first bench. There's a local guy selling some old 6' x 4' office tables that look pretty stout, for $40.

Here's the portable setup. It is just an old end table that I added shelf and wheels to. Quick paint job and stained the top. There are four presses and five powder measures mounted. We use this when we want to crank out a bunch of ammo quickly and watch a movie at the same time 🙂 I just roll this into a corner of my 'Man room" when not in use.

That pic is scary, Ed. I'm just about to get into reloading and that pic makes it look like it's going to cost me several thousand dollars just to get started.

I've had several "temporary" reloading benches over the years, and I learned a great thing... Goodwill, Salvation Army, etc are your friends when it comes to a cheap sturdy bench 🙂 You can get some good old heavy tables, curios, etc for next to nothing. I had a beautiful "side buffet" in Florida that weighed a ton. I didn't bolt anything to it, but is had a ton of storage space underneath for all my supplies. It was a beautiful piece, so I used it as a TV table in the man cave. If I remember right, I paid $20 for it.

I did the salvation army route years ago, picked up a desk for 10 bucks and then built onto that. the single press used to be mounted in desk, couldn't use top drawer. then once into new house the extension was added and attached to wall and two fifty cal bullets easily plugged the original holes. from the looks of this pic i am way down on supplies....been hunting too much and not loading. i load for my whole family, in laws and all.

Great topic Ed, I'll take few snaps of my setup too when time allows. My bench is Oak planks cut from my Grandfathers farm when I was a kid, my dad built the bench, then when he decided not to lad anymore I moved it to my basement. It is built on 4" I beam legs, it does not shake at all when cranking the handle.

tnx jag, its in the corner of my "man cave" i have everything screwed to the studs, hate when stuff falls over when sizing big brass. father in law has the lead pot and molds and i stuff 'em into 45 lc cases....alot of them. 3rd press is gonna be a progressive.

Nice setup Jaggman! Here is my sad little bench
Jody, go easy on yourself. That's a very "sanitary" setup you have and it looks to be maybe in the dining room? Much more formal surroundings than my place. I'll have to post a panorama pic so you all can see what's around the bench. It's quite a crowded room.
