Dear friends,
Where I live there are not enough powder options, and you habe to take qhat you find.
I have a question for N330 that is what i could find. Reloadind for 357 magnum is allowed with N320 and N340. Do yoy know wgy not N330? It has a burning rate between N320 and N340.....
I have 158gn lead round nose bullets. For a speed about 1200 fps y had to load 5.5 to 5.7 gn while vihtavouri tells you as max load 5 gn cowboy action.
Will really apreciate your comments an sugestions.
Thank you

In addition to burn rate I would look at how full the .357 case is for all three. If case capacity seems to be in a logical progression for all three it should be worth a try.
I went to a bookstore and asked the saleswoman "Were is the Self Help Section?" She said if she told me, it would defeat the purpose.

Try looking here: http://www.vihtavuori.com/en/reloading-data/handgun-reloading/-357-magnum-.html.
Sometimes a quick web search can be your friend. I saw one load for N330 and a lead SWC cowboy load.

If you MUST have 1200fps and plan to depart from published data, for any powder, do so incrementally while looking for signs of overpressure. Keep good records and use a Chronograph. Here is a good visual reference for overpressure signs. Case volume, compression, reduced loads, fillers, duplex loads, complete powder burn- all considerations for working up your own load data. Finally, the load you work up is only safe in that particular firearm. It's always been my belief that you should not share load data other than those published by the manufacturers.
Technically, the glass is always full; half liquid, half air....

Just wanted to add that being very carefull following visual references and keeping records, I was able to have 1240 fps using N330 powder and 158 gn lead round nose projectiles. I believe it is possible to get lighly higher velocities. Thank you very muchfor your teaching.

Sounds like you are following very sound and basic reloading procedures, and you have gotten some help on DWF.
Thanks for sharing with us.
