I am still waiting to hear back from CZ after submitting my request for repair form Bob sent me. I just sent him an email to see what was going on.
while he has my gun is there anything else I should have him do or tune maybe? I don’t know anything about what should be done and what options one has. Thanks

Thanks. I wondered if they were busy. It should already be with in factory specs. It appears to be unfired or modified in anyway. I did buy a Wolff spring kit for it, but did not install it yet. I just wasn't sure what fine tuning could be done. maybe a trigger polish or something, IDK. 🙂

Up to you. I had Bob do a trigger job on my 715. Pretty slick.

The part that sux is I already know the the gun is going to be shipped back to me around the end of March. I can tell you the exact dates. Between the 24th and 26th. It doesn’t matter if I ship it this week or the middle of next month. How do I know this you ask? I am going to be out of town those days… 😀

Ok I am a little worried about sending it in for the work. I have sent out a few email trying to find out why I am not hearing back from them. Bob sent me an email yesterday, 1 week after I filled out the form. He said Genny is going to look into it to see what was going on. today I got an email saying it is not in their system, they have no record of me filling it out. I got a confirmation email when I filled it out before, and that information was sent to them. Regardless I needed to fill out another form and start the process again from step 1. this is a little concerning to me, but maybe I am just paranoid.... hopefully it goes smooth from here on.

Ok I have my information now to send the gun in to DW. How should I pack it? I don’t want to send in something and not get it back, I also want it protected from rust and damage during shipping. I could put it in a hard case, or a gun sock, or a ziplock bag with moisture absorbing packs. Should I spray anything on it? Should I include a packing list or anything others then a note of what I want done? Thanks for the help

I’ve shipped guns a lot and I just package it with enough “cushioning” materials that I know will keep it protected if the box gets dropped a bunch - which it will during transport.
No need to worry about moisture/rust. This isn’t being shipped to Central America for months on end 😂
I usually put the gun in one of those padded gun cases then add plenty of bubble wrap and other packaging materials.
Then use a good box. I always ship via FedEx because I like their shipping software and have had an account there forever.
As Bob informs you, put in a note of what you want done and make sure to include all of your information. Name address phone email etc

Ok gun is packed up and ready to ship. Now if I can figure out how to do that. I was going to use FedEx as that is who I used when I sent my PPQ in to walther for warranty last month. They sent me a label. However according to FedEx I can’t ship a hand gun through them. So I checked usps, which I thought was not allowed. From what I read, it isn’t. So that leave only ups, which I hate. Figured I would go by the ups store on my lunch break. Nope can’t do that according to ups. Can’t be dropped off at a store. Right now I am about to say forget it and just keep it as is. Took almost 3 weeks to get the authorization from Dan Wesson to send it, and now it appears you must be a shipping genius with previous experience shipping guns to be able to pull it off.

Needs to be sent through a FedEx shipping center not a FedEx office/shop. Though I will say I've shipped my DWs through a FedEx shop before without any issues. The key is to make the label yourself and ensure you don't put Dan Wesson "Firearms" on the shipping label. I just put DWF followed by Bob's name and the factory address. Then slap that on the box and drop it off at the closest FedEx place. They just scan it and add it to the pile to be shipped out.
Only FFL's can ship handguns through USPS.

Can also use shipmygun.com
They're part of budgunsshop.com and offer discounted shipping rates

thanks I will check on those options. I had a suggestion to take it to my FFL and see what they would charge to ship it. I also sent Genny an email asking if I could pay them for the shipping and have them send me a return label. I will see what they say.
I guess I don't understand the shipmygun site. I selected my FFL where I would drop off my gun, then I select where it is coming from not going to determine the price? that seems odd I never have the option to select where it is going, just who is receiving it. I don't want to pay for the label only to find out it wasn't done correctly.

Yeah the other option is to use a local dealer to ship it and pay them to do it. If you're not able to make the label yourself through FedEx online, then go to a authorized FedEx shipping center/hub and fill out a shipping label manually then slap it on the box. I normally do 2-day service.
