I got A call from Bob today. unfortunately it was not good news. He said during testing on my factory 22LR cylinder he noticed the more the gun was fired the harder the casings were to eject. he measured it and found out that it is .004 out larger than it should be. he gave me 2 options. just keep it the way it is, but eventually I am going to break the ejector trying to get casings out, or spend another $96 for the new 22lr cylinder, and another $100 for fit an finish. and add 8 weeks to the time. I went ahead and chose the second option. cost more, and will be a longer wait, but better to be safe on this.

Unfortunate but not end of the world. I had a similar issue with my 744 cylinder. Chambers oversized so he fitted a shiny new unfluted cylinder.
He may have some unfluted 22 cylinders. Make it kinda unique looking and the price is the same so why not.

.004? Maybe 22 mag would fit? Or have it bored out for 22 mag.
If we had know the LR cylinder was oversized before buying the magnum one and having it blued, then he probably could have made it work for the 22 mag. but he found out after the magnum cylinder was done.
I am actually not a big fan of unfluted cylinders, I did get the 22 Mag unfluted, but almost didn't. I also already have him moving forward on the other unfluted cylinder. he said he would start as soon as we got off the phone. the long lead time was due to the place that does their bluing is behind schedule.

For the future, you need to find a good old fashioned FFL, I have two that do transfers for 20 dollars for "normal" firearms and one of them has their SOT and does 50 dollar transfers for class III items(full autos, suppressors, etc.) when everyone else around starts at twice that and up. I used to have a really good relationship with an older gentleman that only charged me 5 dollars and a couple times nothing for a transfer. Sadly he passed from cancer.
Shipping a handgun yourself has to go FedEx next day air or UPS next day air, next day is their requirement and not a federal requirement due to their losses in theft back when they did ground shipping for handguns. Their rates are astronomical and you can't ship from just any office, have to find a hub. The two Dan's I sold to members of this board recently went through the US post office, FFL's can ship handguns that way, individuals cannot. The pistol pack I sold to KurtB, was in an oversize box, extremely well packed, and weighed just over 15lbs on my FFL's postal scale. Including her 20 dollar transfer fee the total cost to ship it was just a few pennies from 70 dollars, the actual postal charge was a few pennies shy of 50. That package would have been way north of 200 dollars with fedex and ups. The two barrel 41 mag(no case) I sold to another member here was less than 40 dollars including the transfer fee, Fedex quoted me over 100 dollars on that one.

just a quick update, I finally got a chance to open the package last night and take a look at the gun. sorry no pictures yet, and it will probably be a week before I get some I am going out of town. Anyway I am not happy. I don't know why I tend to have this type of thing happen but I do. First I only got back 2 cylinders, the 2 new ones I bought. I would have thought I would get back the original one I sent, since it was mine and I included it with the gun. I guess they decided to keep it though. Secondly the Magnum cylinder I got is stainless and not blued like it was supposed to be. I paid for the blued version, it took the 8 weeks I was quoted for the blued version, but I got the stainless steel version. Now it does look pretty nice, but I would like what I paid for and waited for. I included all of this when the gun was sent in, and on the phone when talking to Bob. Not sure how or why this was missed when doing the work. Anyway I will post pics when I can, along with what happens with the 2 issues I have.

Just got a call From Bob. He said he did have my other cylinder setting there and could send it back to me. He was also unsure what had happened and why I got the stainless steel cylinder and not the blued one. he has in his notes it was supposed to be the blued version, and even had information about receiving it back after it was blued. (I think that is what he said) anyway he said he is retiring this Friday, but would defiantly make it right. He said I could send the gun back to them at their expense and get the work done at their expense. It would mean sending it out again, and waiting at least 8 weeks to get it back.... I don't know if I am going to do that or not. I may ask for a partial refund. Not sure if that is going to be an option though.

I agree, and so far they have been good to work with. I am not trying to bad mouth them. Bob seems to be a great guy, and Genny has been great also. I am a little more frustrated after a closer look, the blued 22lr cylinder they sent me is a unfluted cylinder and not a fluted one, making almost the entire process a wash and having to start from scratch. Gun was sent in early February, it is now almost June. I have paid around $500 and really have gotten nothing I stated I wanted. At this point I am frustrated..
