I have a 744-VH8 and am going to shoot Hornady 200 gr. XTP bullets. Curious if anyone out there has been using this bullet and if so what powder are you using? My goal is for best accuracy. I am considering trying Blue Dot for these lighter bullets. Wanted to try N-105 or A No.7 but not available in my area and don't want to pay haz-mat fees to ship to me. Any suggestions for powder loads with these bullets would be appreciated.
I use the hornady hpxtp in the 240gr and found IMR4227 works real good 23.5 grains with cci mag primers also have used h110 powder in same grains and primer. Your question has not been answered about the 200gr. this may help in your search for powders though. Remember to always work up your loads for your specific guns, so start with less than 23.5 grs. your should find a lot of 44mag info in loading tables. good luck!

My favorite load currently is 240gr FMJ's & 22gr of IMR4227, works great in both my 44's (1 Dan, 1 Ruger).
I haven't tried 200gr bullets, but looking at my Speer manual, it suggests using a starting load of 26gr IMR4227 with 200's. No.7 @ 16.5, but doesn't mention a N-105 load.
Hope that helps.

I have loaded Speer 200 grain bullets in the past and I used H-110. I have the data at home but I beleive it was in the 26.0 grain range + or -. Check your manuals, but I was able to get respectable accuracy with that powder / bullet combo and was using CCI large pistol magnum primers and federal cases.
