I just bought a 8" 44 rainbow barrel. Thread into frame is a mite smaller than my Monson 44. The nut is same thread. It has laser marked on the side ".44 CAL 1:14/ S S." Groove diameter measures 0.410". Do I have a incorrectly marked barrel? Does a DW 41 Mag have a smaller thread diameter in the frame? I dont have a 41 to measure ofd of. Help!

No, the 44 tool won't fit either. Then I got my calipers, groove diameter measures 0.410". The 44 mag I have meausres 0.428". Pretty sure it's a 41 Mag barrel that's lazer marked 44 CAL. Gives me an excuse to buy a 41 Mag DW!

41 mag barrel assemblies do show up for sale often. However they don't seem to go for more money because the market is smaller I suspect.

This is a rainbow colored barrel, so it would make sense to go with a slotted shroud. Cant say I've seen a 41 slotted shroud before.

My SRS-1 741 doesn't need a barrel it's already has the color one showing through the slots. But my 2 7414 super mag shrouds sure needed the colored tube.

The process is laser etching on stainless steel barrels, which produces fantastic multi-color rainbow markings.

Dan Wesson said machines for slotted barrel shrouds will be back online May/June. My calendar is marked. Returning one shroud recently purchased, and have 2-4 on list to order
