Just wondering if there is any load data regarding 125gr Rainier H/P bullets for 38/357 ... lets just say i couldn't beat the price. I usually load 158gr Zero Bullets and 158 gr Rainier out of the Dan and GP 100...Both of them eat it like candy..my powder of choice is SR 4756 and W 296..This site has always been so helpful.

I think Ranier's are a "plated" bullet NOT jacketed. Plated bullets should not be loaded to the same spec as a jacketed bullet, especially in .357, and most especially in lighter weights.

There's a reason you got them at a good price, and they are still a good value, they are just not safely up to standard JHP performance at the extreme edge of reloading.
I went to a bookstore and asked the saleswoman "Were is the Self Help Section?" She said if she told me, it would defeat the purpose.

Thanks for the link to Berry's..I totally understand the "plated" vs "jacketed" powder charge concern. I have loaded around 2K of the Rainier 158's and an equal amount of the Zeros.. I wont drop a grain of powder till I'm comfortable with the load I'm shooting. Safety is Nbr 1...
With all the current shortages of primers, powders and bullets I was able to pick the 125's up..have another 500 38 spec. Starline brass coming in a week or 2..and I think the Gods were with me when I picked up 3K CCI primers at the show 2 weeks ago.....Power Pistol and the SR 4756 arrived to round thing off
Just looking for additional info ...Thanks again..!

Recently I walked into a store I rarely visit as they were putting about 100,000 CCI Small Pistol primers on the shelf, they had just finished putting a bunch of powder out.
Last week I got one of the last 1K of Federal Small Pistol Magnum primers at Cabela's. The guy who got them out of the case asked another guy "When did these come in?" He was putting the last 1K for himself? Maybe? Looked like it.
Gotta keep looking, and buy it when you find it.

Rainier told us, several years ago to use load data for cast bullets. They are swagged lead and the copper plating won't stand up to the stress of a jacketed bullet loading. They make great practice ammo have fun.
