So I’m suffering from DWAS and looking to make the plunge on another revolver. The shroud has some wear that I would want fixed. I scrolled through some of the old posts about blueing and I think I’d rather send it back to Bob to have it done right. I guess I’m asking for anyone who has experience with this and about how much it costs to get a shroud done (8”)? Experiences with hot and cold blueing are welcome as well. Thank you

I am sure Bob could handle it also, he is excellent gun smith.

I have not personally used them but have heard about good dealings with this outfit:

not just random posts but from well established members on other forums I am on.

Contact them with the details and maybe some pics of the shroud. I'm sure it will be a ballpark because of the prep work it may need to do the job correctly. Both these companies do top notch work.

Bob has my Model 40 Maximum right now. Should be back in a few weeks. He said 459$ to fit the internals, new spring kit, new hand, polish and reblue the whole gun, and ship it back! I thought that was really reasonable. So cost of rebluing a shroud should be minimal if that's all they charged for all that.
