n.paperman (??)
330 gr JSP on top of 90 gr of H110 ought to do it....only kidding. IHMSA80X80 should have the info...he does a little of that shooting.
with the green machine. I just started hand loading back in June and am having a lot of fun experimenting. You been doing it for awhile?

Hi Martin! I'm assuming your PM to me, that I couldn't open, had to do with this subject. If not, let me know on a forum.
One of the Dan Wesson's I use for IHMSA is a 744-VH10, the one you see in my signature line, only it wears Bomar/Lansing sights now. The first load I tried for it was the same one I had been using in my United Sporting Arms Eldorado. That load works so well in my Dan Wesson, that I haven't tried much of anything else.
Sierra 250 grain FPJ
W-296 23.0 grains
Federal 155 primer
Starline Brass
With limited other testing, I know it didn't like the Sierra 220 grain Silhouette bullet and 23.5 grains W-296...might need to go up some more with this one. The Winchester 240 grain SP was a bust with this powder.

I'm Martin. Norman Paperman is a hero of mine lol
Sort of just getting started. I was completely geeked out on it back 20+ years ago. Now, pulling out the old stuff and just getting started again 🙂

Thanks. I'm trying to read the labels on the three boxes of old loads I just shot. Two boxes were unjacketed. All my brass is Winchester, looks like sierra 220g swc, w296 27.0 g, cci 350 light crimp was the best in terms of group. the other box was a speer 240g swc, cci 300 not sure on the load tho, label fell off. It was a significantly bigger bang (people came and looked to see what I was shooting) and very smokey.
Looks like your round is a little heavier and your load lighter than mine. For some reason I remember plotting the trajectory (have it in index cards in my box but for the life of me I can't remember why) and liking the flatter trajectory.
Anyway, I think I'll make up a few boxes of a couple differrent rounds and play with them.
Thanks
