Okay Guys,

Now that I have found my CBOB and all is good with the authorities and hopefully after tomorrow morning with the insurance company I will be looking for a load.  I have ordered a 1000 pieces of once fired brass from another forum but need to know what bullet and powder you guys would recommend.  This is just going to be for pinking and having fun...

Hey Jody- I can't help with bullets- I've been casting .45 for a while now.  My plinking load is 200 gr lead cast over 5.0 gr of Tightgroup, Win Large Pistol primer.  You have to watch the .45 brass these days- a small pistol primer hole is now used by a few companies.

Technically, the glass is always full; half liquid, half air....

I almost mimic Ron, been shooting 4.2 grn 700x w/ 200 grn LSWC and Win LP primer or

4.2 Bullseye w/ 200 grn LRN and Win LP primer. These are light target loads.

Just now starting to cast my own bullets, getting everything together, but I will cast those two

bullets for the 45 acp's .

I like Ranier for range shooting ammo, I've gotten them in 500 bulk pack at Cabela's a couple of times for a good price.

I also use a fair amount of Berry's bullets, again, sometimes a pretty good price at Cabela's

I don't cast and probably never will, I'm OK with buying the bullets.

I went to a bookstore and asked the saleswoman "Were is the Self Help Section?" She said if she told me, it would defeat the purpose.

To the paranoid people who check behind shower curtains for murderers:

if you find one...what's your plan?

My favorite load is 5.0gr WW231 with a 200gr cast flat-point or Semi-wadcutter. It hits the same point-of-aim as my defensive load.  Been using it for over 20 years...if it ain't broke-don't fix it.laugh

I run super light plinker loads for the range--just enough powder to work the slide over some home cast 185 lead.
