Can I get you guys to look in your books and tell me what the

C.O.L max. and min. for a 180grn HP 10mm is ?

Load is - 180 grain Golden Saber Bullet, 8.6 grains of Power Pistol powder,

Winchester primer, Star line brass.

I know the COL recommended is 1.25 but I need to know the max

and min range, mostly the min because I think the ones I have here

are too short.

This adds another question, "too short of a COL will cause pressure

spike"  is that correct ?

Thanks for any info.

I take it you didn't get my e-mail-- Speer #12 says COL is 1.250"

I've never seen a min/max for COL -- partly because to short OAL will cause a SIGNIFICANT increase in pressure... and I do mean SIGNIFICANT surprised...

Nope , no email screwy who knows ?

Some manuals show a min and max, Vihta Vuori shows COL 1.26 to 1.24

with 1.25 recommended. Didn't know if any one else had any detailed

info on Power pistol.

I'll give Alliant a call and see what they say.

An EXPERIENCED reloader may load them with a shorter or longer OAL--but you need to accommodate for the extra pressure that will be guaranteed with a short OAL.

Only reason to load shorter is to fit long heavy bullets, or for tweaking feeding problems in semi-autos.  Both of these situations will require reduced loads.

OK got off the horn with great guy at Alliant, Discussed load and he said

anything within 20 thousands should be fine. My COL is between

1.23 – 1.225.

Shot 20 rnds and not even the slightest sign of any pressure gremlins.
