I read somewhere that guys used to use some scope rings that clamped directly onto the vent rib on the Dan Wesson shroud.  Can anyone tell me what type of scope rings those were?  I really don't want to drill and tap.  Thanks for any help....

Then I hope you are prepared to open your wallet... Laugh... The best ones are Leupold and will run you around $100 if you can find them.  Here's a recent pic --

You're only other real option is a B-square clamp on rib rail--much cheaper, but not near as nice looking.

Thanks for the reply.  I saw a clamp on from Burris but I don't think they make it anymore.  I read somewhere that they used to use the little 22 cal clamp on type rings.  Anyone heard of or tried that?  Thanks again.

I bought a 715 some time ago that had a set of (Millet?) rings clamped onto the shroud. They were clearly not the best solution, because although they were pretty secure, they also put some shallow gouges in the rib. I'll see if I can dig them out and post a picture. I do have the Burris setup, which is a pretty nice solution if you can find one. You are correct that they are no longer made.

I went to a bookstore and asked the saleswoman "Were is the Self Help Section?" She said if she told me, it would defeat the purpose.
