I've been looking at a Brownells catalog and wondering what finish to use on my 44 blued. I only need to do the Shrouds. The frame is Blarney, and I don't really need to match this but want to keep the frame as is. What I want to do is refinish the shrouds in something that will not clash with the frame.
Any ideas???

Received my OXPHO-BLUE from Brownells today. Also viewed some YouTubes on the subject. Hope this becomes dark enough for me. Does anyone have any suggestions???
Also recieved the two .120 drill bits and a 6-48 tap for the scope rail going on the Monson 44 mag 10 inch barrel.
Need to find someone with a drill press.....

Actually I didn't do any Oxy Blue. Still planning on sending the shrouds to you, was waiting until after hunting season. Which BTW ends this Friday. Was also going to dig into the 44 to see what is the problem with the double action. I'm guessing years of crud and rust. Also, I want to take another look at the frame assembly. It might need to be refinished as well. I did get another one for Christmas, monson made and it looks and feels and shoots great. So now, I have something to strive for on this not so pretty one.
Thanks for the thoughts, I still have your email.
