I recently acquired a blued DW 15-10VH in .22lr. The fellow I purchased it from did a ton of silhouette shooting back in the day. Also won 2 back to back state championships with this gun. I fondled it before I bought it and it had an awesome trigger pull on it. He had it in to DW a few times to tune it....here is my question... I never attempted to dry fire in double action till I got home...it WILL NOT rotate the cylinder and binds up. Did DW make single action only triggers for .22lr and other calibers?? Or is this an aftermarket parts or a factory tuning job? I took a pic of the internals but cant figure out how to post from my cellphone. Will keep trying...sorry. Hope I have this in the proper topic.....

First of all, this is the right Forum for your question.
A 15-10 VH in .22lr is not a valid DW model, a "15" would be a .357 Magnum
There were Single Action only DW revolvers, and I think they might have been in .22, and they would likely have a "hooded" front (or rear?) sight, and have been set up for silhoutte shooting and have a ram engraved on the shroud. If you have this gun, it's pretty uncommon.
I went to a bookstore and asked the saleswoman "Were is the Self Help Section?" She said if she told me, it would defeat the purpose.

I have a Palmer 22 with a 10 inch barrel that is SAO, it has a ram on the shroud, and a patridge site, no hood. I have a Norwich 22 V10 with a Bomar hooded site, it is double acrltion.

OK...I think I figured this picture thing out...
Below is my new (to me)single action only DW22-VH10
My bad for all the fingerprints on it. I fondled it to death
And yes...it does have the ram on the shroud
Below:
Here is the reason for my post. I find out that after I thought it was broken (No double action)...
that it is a single action only, from the guys of this forum (Thanks Guys!)
I didnt realize that they were made. But thats why Im here!!
I see the absence of the linkage that cocks the hammer.
I had to open it up and see..
But..It is now time to go out
and shoot tonite after work if the rain holds out. I'll have a range report as soon as I can.

You beat me too it. Yes there is SA only silhouette 22s. 10" in either V or VH, Blue or stainless. They can have hoods or not. The hammer IS different. No strut, hence no DA. I have one in stainless. I also have a hammer from a DA Dan. I will put it in and convert it to DA. As far as I know, it is the only difference. 10" was the longest 22 length made but if you could have EWK make you a longer one you could use a 15-2 shroud in 12 or15 inch.

I think also that there is/was some kind of provision in California that made an otherwise not allowable revolver OK there if it is modified to SA only. This resulted in some people "neutering" a DA revolver to SA to make it legal to bring in to the state. As noted, I "THINK" this was happening at one time.

My Norwich SRS-1 22 V10 is a tack driver, the Palmer is NIB and unfired but I would bet money that it is a tack driver too.
Ron I believe you are correct on the California SAO modification.
