Next pesky question for all you with patience for my learning curve. Since my eyes are getting older, even if the rest of my body still looks like a greek god, I need to be able to see the front sight in shady or dim light conditions. My 414 has a narrow patridge front and narrow notch all black rear and they work well on bright sunny days at the range. For hunting, they're not good enough. Has anyone put a fiber optic front sight on their Supermag? What brand? Did you go to a white outline or white dot rear? I think I might try a three dot setup with red fiber front with white dots rear. Comments appreciated.

Outside of custom fabrication, your best opportunity for a FO front would be DW/CZ. I have one and I'm not much impressed with it. Rear sight options are tough as well, as evidently DW/CZ is no longer stocking them. The Millet rear is a very desireable sight, and very challenging to locate.
What about mounting a red dot on the shroud?
I went to a bookstore and asked the saleswoman "Were is the Self Help Section?" She said if she told me, it would defeat the purpose.

THAT IS A GREAT IDEA for someone with a lot of time on their hands. My machinist brother can help, but he needs to get paid even for a brother. Think about 100 dollars an hour. Maybe I'll start with a big ole shotgun sight and whittle on it. Or another pistol sight with similar sight radius and just invent a mount for it. Sounds time consuming, and expensive. I'll see how my motivation progresses. Maybe just use white-out on the sights when I hunt shadows for pigs...
Thanks,
