trying to feed these animals...
357 SM brass isn’t very hard to come by... there are sellers on gun broker and i bought a couple hundred pieces from ET Brass https://etbrass.com/index.php/pistol-brass/ so pretty sure that should be easy to come by...
375 SM is apparently going to be the tougher... I’m guessing there are a multitude of other pieces that can be cajoled into something that will do the trick but since i don’t have a 375 in my collection (yet), i haven’t explored this option yet.. highly unlikely we’ll ever see that in production again...
414 SM brass... probably never see this again in production either...
445 SM brass is not really impossible to find... I got 200 pieces from a seller on gun broker and also bought loaded ammo from another, and this is where it gets interesting...
i bought 250 rounds (5 boxes) of loaded 445 ammo from;
Bullseye Shooting Supplies
ask for Paul 401-766-4409
ammoman@bullseyeguns.com
speaking w/ Paul, i understand he will provide 357 and 445 loaded ammo at reasonable pricing using new starline brass ... he may also make ammo for your 375 but that will come with another headstamp (i forgot which one)... AND... wait for it... he has very limited once fired 414 IHMSA brass and will load that for you (bring your own vaseline)...
i was originally planning on making my 445 ammo from 303 brittish brass and tried several ways to quickly prepare brass... i eventually contacted:
Carl Schroeder
Ugly Reloading USA https://www.uglyreloadingusa.com/
Carl makes custom bushings that work with either a lyman or frankfort arsenal electric trimmer... the idea being, stick the 303 brit in and come out w/ a bunch of the work involved in making the 445 behind you... i was planning on using a handful of expander plugs on a progressive press to finish the process...
this is a video demonstrating the bushing (not necessarily for 445 but will work w/ anything)...
Carl also makes a pretty sweet annealing machine too...
