Thinking about installing a new bolt, is this a fitted or drop-in part?

I'm in the process of getting a DW 744 up and running again, and after cleaning the gun and replacing the bolt spring and hand spring, as well as fitting a new hand, the timing problem remains.

The next thing I can think of is replacing the bolt. Is this a drop in part, or is it fitted?

You will most likely have to do some fitting. It should be small, so go slow, check a lot.

I agree, it will likely need to be fitted to your gun, but the necessary work should be minimal. There's also a chance that it could drop right in, you never know.
