For some people, the only reason they shoot their guns, is to have some empty brass to reload.
Glad your reloads worked fine...isn't it great to hit something with ammo you made yourself? Nothing quite like that.
CF is right, they should be crimped in the first groove from the bottom, the one with the bevel on it. Don't worry about the maximum O.A.L. listed in reloading manuals. That is usually a figured stated to assure the loaded round would feed from a magazine. Crimp all bullets in the cannelure and you will be fine. Bullet jump from the case to the barrel is not a real problem with revolvers...lighter bullets are shorter than heavier ones, and they will have a larger jump. Just think about shooting .38 Special wadcutters in your .357 Magnum. THAT is a large jump, but they will often give fine accuracy anyway.
