Thread size for the 357 is 17/32-40. I have tried to locate a tap and die for this size but was unsuccessful. I did find a couple of places on the web that would make up a set but they were pricey ($150+ for each). The barrel threads can be chased on a lathe if you have access to one. Also some of the old Cox model airplane engines used this size thread size for the engine heads. There were some taps being sold in this thread size to make some model engines. One may show up on E-bay now and then or search the model airplane forums. As for the 44 I believe the thread size is 21/32-40. However, I do not actually own one so this was from previous research and my be incorrect. Hope this helps.

I found this post looking for the thread size of the barrel nut for the large frame revolvers. After a lot of searching, I believe this is the only place on the internet where a 21/32x40TPI thread pattern is even mentioned. I was able to get in touch with Eric at EWK Arms who kindly confirmed that this was the correct thread pattern for the barrel nut on the large frame revolvers. I just wanted to confirm this info for anyone else who might be searching for it in the future.
