Bought a one-owner '76 15-2 with reloaded ammo that is likely 25-40yrs old.

These were included with the old NIB ammo.Odd-ammo1.jpgImage Enlarger

Wadcutters. For target shooting. Probably 38 Special. They make perfectly round, neat holes. Used against flesh they can be devastating.

I use to have a bullet mold for wad cutter lead bullets. 135 gr bevel base. Use to load them up side down. They would put a 1/2” hole in a piece of plywood

They are 38S.   Being flat, do they damage the barrel?

Lots of our local target shooters load wadcutters like this for target shooting.  Boosts case pressure, thus requiring minimal powder; or, as they prefer to say, "just enough powder to knock the [steel] target over".

Wadcutters of course! Surprised you hadn’t seen those before. Nice clean holes in paper targets as others have said.

My local range used to carry copper plated wadcutters, I still have a small amount left! Very light shooting usually.

I have just never seen them completely sunken into the brass before.   I guess before, I assumed the a flat-nosed, semi-wadcutter was only kind?
