A head spacing issue was suggested could be the issue with my 7445, with the firing pin lodging in the primers.
What is Head spacing?
If it's an easy fix, I may try to do it myself. If not, she goes to DW next week......and the withdrawl symptoms will have treated with my model 40.
Timing sucks. Beginning of Silhouette season! Knocking down a Ram @ 200 meters is still on my Bucket List.

Too little headspace will not cause the firing pin to lodge in the primer. I would remove the pin and carefully polish it, especially around the shoulder area. Excessively hot loads can still grab onto a primer due to mushrooming, but a perfectly smooth firing pin will usually mitigate the problem.

Have you had the firing pin out yet? Kinda sounds like the spring could maybe be broken or full of crud and not allowing the FP to return. Could be an easy fix- new spring or a little emery cloth polishing on the face... either way, don't send it in just yet.
Technically, the glass is always full; half liquid, half air....

Make a vid/pics if you are inclined that way! Would make a nice tutorial for us scaredy cats!
That's me! scaredy cat!
I must teach myself because most of my recently acquired DWs have been large frames.
(DW #25 ships Tuesday. Second safe goes on layaway tomorrow)

Are you using large rifle primers? That’s what is required according to Hodgdon. If your using large pistol primers they have thinner primer cups and won’t handle the pressures compared to a rifle primer
