What is "wobbly"? Side to side? Loses POA? Loose or sloppy?
Photo's will help, there are a couple different rear sights on DW's. Lot's of discussion on rear sights lately.
I went to a bookstore and asked the saleswoman "Were is the Self Help Section?" She said if she told me, it would defeat the purpose.

If I replace the rear sights with Millet blade sights does it take me out of IHMSA production category?
I can't imagine that it would, lots of those guys' guns are wearing BoMar's & other fancy upgrades. Just to be safe though, you could get it right from the horse's mouth, if you'd like.

I mean the actual sight piece (the part with the notch in it) is loose and can rock back and forth, side to side, about a millimeter or perhaps slightly less.
The part ot the sight pinned to the frame is solid, does not move.
I'll try and get pics up later.
I just went through this a couple of weeks ago on a .22 I bought. Long story short you need new sights. The best I or anybody else can tell the two parts cannot be separated without damaging something. I looks like there's a pin that doesn't go all the way through holding the two parts together.
I'm almost ready to separate the parts of this sight just so I can see what is inside. I don't like ruining things but the sight is no good the way it is. If you figure out a way to fix these sights then let us know as others are also interested.
Saturday a friend who is a gunsmith and Dan Wesson fanatic will be coming to my home and looking at the bad sight. The Millet sights are 43.00 from Optics Planet.
Looking at the end of the pin it appears deformed. I have 2 sights of this vintage and they are both the same. I think it must be a solid pin. The thing is even if the pin were bent would that allow the two pieces to move so freely from each other? I'll be ordering the Millet here soon and will take the other sight apart so we all know. It appears this is a common problem. Don't get your hopes up on these being repairable but I will see.

warnerwh, I know exactly what you are dealing with, I too, have two of these two piece sights, both are wobbly. I have one of the newer DW ones that have the removable/replacable rear blade. I bought that one from DWA quite a while ago. The sight can be used with a narrow notch blade or a standard notch blade. I like the narrow notch when I have the 8 inch barrels on, both H and HV. They may still be available from CZDW, I thought I saw them a while back on the parts list.
I replaced my other wobbly two piece with a Millet, it is a very nice sight.
n.paperman, I installed the DW00002 from Opticsplanet, here is the link, just click on the window above the add to cart button.

ok. finally got the millet sight and installed it. I have only sighted it off the rest on a 25 yard indoor range at this point but I have to let the elevation screw waaaaaaay out to get it sighted in. Does that seem normal?
hopefully getting to an ihmsa shoot this weekend and get to try it at some better distances.
At 25 yards off the rest using ely match prime rounds I'm getting about a 2-3" group. Seems a bit big, my IZH-35M shoots about a 1/4" - 1/2" group at this distance. Given its off the rest, my lack of skill can only be playing a small role in this. Perhaps there is better ammo more suited to the revolver? What are peoples favorite ammo for the .22LR?

22's tend to be real finicky about ammo. Recently we started some ammo trials here at the forum to compare ammo but it is still in it's infancy. Here it is so you can check it out.
