Oh just mostly posting to be posting....
So I saw an ad for Taurus saying has how they do MIM better than anyone and that other gun makers come to them for MIM parts. Whatever....
So the internals of the med frame DW's and I assume all DW are MIM. Now MIM is not "horrible", but what I hear is one short comming - the "insides" are softer than the outsides. What this means is that if one "overhones" the MIM part in order to reduce friction, they possibly could remove enough metal to enter into the softer core metal. The result is a greater tendency to wear faster.
Soooo... how cool would it be if we could get our hands on CNC internals that are just as hard on the inside as on the outside. Maybe in some exotic metal or finish.
Wheres Erics new stuff??? I have ideas dern it.
