Actually, I was at an annual function for my range (I'm on the board) and was chatting with one of the IPIC guys about how many rounds he put down range a year. He said he would get about 150,000 rounds out of a 38 super barrel before it died. These are heavy use barrels mind you, some heavy training days might be 5,000 rounds. When I shot IPSC steel matches an old dog had a 45 throwing bullets sideways and he said the barrel had somewhere between 250,00-300,000 rounds.

My point.
If I shot 1000 rounds every day, it would take me 6.25 years to put 10K rounds through every gun/rifle I have.
I fell lucky if I shoot 1K rounds a month.

When I was living in FL, I averaged 20k rounds a year in my 9mm shooting steel plate... I lived there 6 years and used the same gun every week... Just sold it--my trusty Llama 1911 9mm ... Believe it or not, there is good Spanish steel out there. I'm sure it will last the new owner another 100k....
My DW's see a lot of use, but not that much. I've yet to put any serious wear on one. I was going to start a thread on "Working DW's"... maybe this week I will.
